WEST WALES RAIDERS WILL TAKE ON WIGAN WARRIORS AT STEBONHEATH PARK
WEST WALES RAIDERS CAN ANNOUNCE THAT THEY WILL WELCOME THEIR PARTNERS WIGAN WARRIORS TO STEBONHEATH PARK FOR A PRESEASON FRIENDLY.
The West Wales Raiders are pleased to announce that Wigan Warriors under 19’s will be one of the sides they will face as part of their preseason friendlies.
Since their new partnership was formed both clubs have been trying to organise a suitable date for both and we can finally release that West Wales Raiders will play Wigan Warriors under 19’s at Stebonheath Park on Saturday 2ndFebruary.
It will be the first time in the history of the club where they shall face current super league champions at their home ground.
We caught up with Raiders CEO Peter Tiffin on his thoughts of the exciting fixture “I am pleased this is finally out in the public domain and we can now push to get as much support as possible, it’s been an area that both clubs have been trying to organise ever since we have begun our talks as partnered clubs. It was first an area that we had discussed with Matty Peet but now have continued and finalised with Mick Cassidy. With the partnership one that both parties see as beneficial to the clubs we have identified a few dates over the next year in which we will be working together to continue to grow the sport in Wales. Myself and Mick have been in contact most weeks on all the areas in which we can benefit from the partnership. This will be the first of those events and hopefully we can show the support there is for the sport.”
Head of Youth at Wigan Warriors Mick Cassidy added the following "The agreement between Wigan Warriors and West Wales Raiders continues to be a great service to both clubs. We are looking forward to travelling to Stebonheath Park for the fixture, and I’m sure it will be a great opportunity for our under 19’s players to get some quality game time under their belts at the beginning of our season.”
