The West Wales Raiders are pleased to announce a brand new working relationship with Cardiff Metropolitan University.

The Raiders already have a really close partnership with Swansea University and will look to duplicate this with Cardiff Met.

The Raiders will be involved with the Santander-funded internships; the internships will see students getting paid-for work experience with the Raiders on a 1-2 month cycle.  Both full and part time options will be available for final year students at the university as well as their recent graduates.

The Raiders will also be a part of future events connected with the university and are in talks with how they can further support the university and their students with employability skills. Additional discussions are taking place on how the Raiders can assist the university in other areas moving forward.

Natalie Light, Employer Services Officer at Cardiff Metropolitan University spoke about the internship scheme: “We are delighted that West Wales Raiders are looking to provide one of our students with an opportunity within their business where they will gain valuable work experience and help to develop skills that will be sought after by employers in their future.”

West Wales Raiders CEO Peter Tiffin added “After a few discussions with Natalie it was in agreement that both parties could benefit from the new working relationship. It’s exciting to see all the different avenues of support they have in place for final year students; we want to be heavily involved to allow as many students as possible the opportunity to work with the club, and we have so many plans of ways for everyone to be involved and continue to grow the game in Wales. Natalie and I along with her colleagues at the university will now work on other areas that the club can show further support to Cardiff Met moving forward.”
