WELSH INTERNATIONAL BATEMAN COMES BACK TO WALES AND SIGNS WITH RAIDER FOR 2019 SEASON

West Wales Raiders add welsh international Ash Bateman to their squad for the upcoming 2019 season.

Ashley Bateman is a Wales international rugby league player who joins us from Coventry Bears who also play in the Betfred League 1.

Ash played for the Crusaders once in the super league against Castleford Tigers and has also represented his country at student level and first team, he made his international début in an 88-8 win over Serbia in the European Cup.

Last year Ash joined the West Wales Raiders but moved on to Coventry Bears after one appearance for the Raiders. Whilst playing for Coventry he scored against the Raiders at Stebonheath Park.

Head Coach Kim Williams added “Ash is a quality player who can cover a number of positions and will also bring some excellent leadership skills to our 2019 squad. I am delighted to welcome back another Welsh International who’s experience and versatility will be invaluable to us throughout the season.
