RAIDERS SIGN YOUNG AUSTRALIAN HOOKER

West Wales Raiders are pleased to announce the signing of young Australian hooker Mitch Shaw.

Mitch Shaw had played a lot of his rugby league for Brisbane East before making his move to Coventry Bears who also play in League 1.

After gaining a release from Coventry Mitch approached the Raiders late last week about the possibility of joining the squad for the remainder of the season.

The Raiders were not necessarily in the market for a hooker but we expect Mitch to be an excellent acquisition for the club.

Head Coach Kim Williams added “I am very happy to have Mitch on board for the remainder of the 2019 season. He is a player who can cover several positions and will add some depth to our spine. He is young and seems to be very willing to learn so I am looking forward to working with him throughout the second half of the year.”

Keep an eye out to see if Mitch can make his debut for the club this weekend as we travel to London Skolars.
