Australian hooker decides to re-sign for 2020 with the West Wales Raiders

Hooker Mitch Shaw has re-signed for the club to continue where he left off with the Raiders last season.

After a difficult first couple of months in the UK, Mitch decided to switch league 1 clubs and moved from Coventry Bears to West Wales Raiders half way through last season.

Once he joined he then began to cement his starting position with the team and scored a few tries along the way including his try of the season contender for both the club and the league awards.

On his return the club caught up with Mitch to see his thoughts on the upcoming season “I’m glad to be back with the Raiders for 2020, last season we had some ups and downs and I think we can improve on that massively this season. Aaron has already made some key signings and I’m looking forward to training and playing with them all this year.”

Head Coach Aaron Wood added “Second season here for Mitch, and I for one am looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch. With our new pack and the dynamic style that Mitch has he should be very active this year.”
