Welsh prop switches codes for the 2020 season.

EX Swansea RFC front rower decides to join up with the Raiders for the new Betfred League 1 season.

Welsh prop Sam Martin who has played for Swansea & Dunvant RFC has decided to switch codes and has been on trial with the Raiders over pre-season.

New head coach is happy with what he has seen so far and decided to sign Sam for the upcoming season.

New signing Sam Martin spoke about being a part of the squad in 2020 “ If I’m honest at first I was wary of making the big step across, but know after a few months at the club and being welcomed by all I’m looking forward to the step up in level. We have a great bunch of boys as it is and the club are continuing to increase daily. I understand with all the new recruits it’s going to be tough to get a starting position this year but I am working very hard to make it a successful season both for myself and the Raiders.”

Head Coach Aaron Wood added “Sam is a very powerful runner, his low sense of gravity makes it very difficult to stop him or even slow him down, he still needs more time to learn the game but he will definitely be an asset to the squad in 2020.”
