Scottish International Prop re-signs for the Raiders for the 2020 season.

After an up and down first season for the Scottish international, Sam Herron has decided to re-sign for the Raiders this season.

Sam had a great start to his first season with the Raiders after receiving plaudits from many media outlets after a few man of the matches performances.

This did not continue for Sam as he lost his position in the team for the home win of the season v Coventry Bears but vowed to work hard to get his starting position back.

After his hard work at the end of the season he had a call up to the Scottish squad for their world cup qualifiers.

We caught up with Sam on his thought to re-signing with the club for 2020 “I’m really looking forward to this season ahead and helping the team build and progress on where we got last season. With the efforts everyone’s been giving at training so far and how much work we’re all putting in it feels like it’s going to be a huge year for us as a squad. With all the new faces coming in to the Raiders this season there is a lot of work going on to make sure you have your position week in week out, and I for one want to keep my place this year.”

Head Coach Aaron Wood added his thoughts on re-signing Sam “ Sam gives our pack a great work ethic and experience up front, I’m really looking forward to seeing Sam rise and become a leader this season both on and off the field.”
