Rob Simon Returns to the Club


West Wales Raiders are pleased to announce Rob Simon as their new Head of Strength & Conditioning.

Rob Simon has decided to rejoin the Raiders after a short supporting role in their first year as a professional club.

Rob has a strong background s a welsh international athlete on the track. He has an abundance of knowledge, honed as a Physical Training Instructor in the RAF.

Last season Rob worked with Wales under 19s on aspects of their conditioning throughput the season.

He spoke to the Raiders after his first session and commented on his new appointment,

“I am very excited to be working with the Raiders squad this season. I’m looking to continue the fantastic work that Brad Lawton and Rob Welch established last season. The team that the Raiders are building, is very exciting and to work with Aaron and the new coaching team, is a great opportunity to build on the firm foundations that Kim Williams started last season. the raiders plans are what the region needs and I'm glad to be part of it.”


Raiders chairman Andrew Thorne added

“Its great to have Rob back at the Raiders, his knowledge is second to none and he is very specific in helping every individual player at the Raiders to improve on all physical performance related goals. Rob was part of the original set up when we too over the club and its great to see him back, he is a great addition to current back room staff and will be an asset to the players being recruited by the club this season
